Bishop Paul has now granted permission for All Saints' Church to suspend public worship for the foreseeable future. We move back to being almost entirely online. This is an exceptional step for exceptional times but the PCC, Beryl, Jenny and I agree that we should not open for public worship while Lockdown is in place (other churches in this and other Dioceses have decided against doing so, too). I am grateful to those of you who have been in touch with your personal support. However, the obligation to turn off heating and open all external doors means the building is also bitterly cold - we believe this alone represents a risk to people's health which cannot be ignored.
Our current schedule is....
Sunday 10am Holy Communion; 7pm Compline by Candlelight

Monday to Friday 9am-ish Morning Prayer
*Tuesday and Thursday 11am to 12noon Private Prayer in church (sorry, not taking place 28 January and 18 February)
*Wednesdays from 1.30pm Vicar's Parish Prayer Walk
Saturdays 3pm Meditate with Fraser
*This will be the only event which is not live-streamed.

Other events may be added as time goes by. Full details of our new schedule plus all updates like this can be found on the Church Facebook page. https://www.facebook.com/AllSaintsHBSH
As ever, the Church of England provides an online National Service alongside the excellent telephone ministry, 'Daily Hope' on 0800 804 8044.
Did you know that a variation of our Phone Tree is still in operation? If you would appreciate a weekly 'phone call, please contact me and one of the volunteers will contact you.By suspending public worship, the PCC and I know all too well that church giving will decrease to almost zero this month, because almost everyone only likes to give when they personally attend public worship. But as much as we know this, we have to put your health and safety first and would ask you to complement our concern for you with a concern for your church's financial wellbeing.
Please stay safe and follow all Lockdown rules. I will be back in touch in due course. Finally, a word about our use of copyright music during live-streamed events...A word about copyright....
CCLI license 1275338. All Saints' Church has a full suite of copyright licenses for music reproduction, including one which permits it during events which are live-streamed. From time to time, Facebook will mute our videos because, as yet, there is no mechanism by which they can be assured that we are licensed to use copyright material. We apologise in advance for this.
