Church of England Diocese of Canterbury Wingham

28 Mar 2020, 1 a.m.

In common with all Anglican churches, until further notice no public services are being held in churches of this Benefice and sadly they are also physically closed. This is to keep people safe, reduce infection and to support our health service.

The church is fundamentally about people, not buildings. Never has there been greater need for God’s people to work together to support the community and show true Christian love for everyone.

We are now dependent on our virtual church. Locally and nationally, prayers, readings and topics for reflection are available via the internet in an increasing number. We are also working informally to support each other in many practical ways – “Love thy neighbour as thyself”

Daily Worship. For Ickham, Littlebourne, Stodmarsh, Wickhambreaux and Wingham we have our specially prepared service of Daily Worship. It is published daily on the website and also distributed directly by email to church members and others.

Other Information. Sources of virtual worship are available and are increasing in number. Information about ways of accessing the virtual church and other current matters relating to Covid19 and the church can be found on the Littlebourne Benefice website

If you need to make contact please telephone one of the churchwardens – they will be only too pleased to help. That includes putting you in touch with a priest, if that is your need.
