The Journey starts towards appointing a new Rector

Meetings have now been organised with representatives of the three PCCs to draw up our Benefice Profile and then to meet with the Archdeacon and Bishop in order to progress advertising the vacancy

Our Interim Priest-in-Charge Rev'd Canon Mark Haworth writes "The Bishop is now asking that I assist in the process of preparation for my successor, such that there is no vacancy (formerly known as an ‘interregnum’) as a candidate is selected to become Rector of the benefice, and I take my leave. To make this happen we need to pull together a Benefice Profile, which tells your story as the three churches you are, with facts and figures, but also the common ministry and mission that you share in this part of the Gipping Valley Deanery, as a benefice. While the three PCCs have all been asked for volunteers, we are keen to recruit other people who may have skills to offer and I invite you as members of all our churches, or indeed folk you might like to suggest, who could be part of this important piece of work. I have already begun to make arrangements for the meetings that then ensue, involving the new acting Rural Dean, Archdeacon and Bishop, in the hope of moving to an appointment this summer."
