DESCRIPTION:Join us for our Imposition of Ashes service at 10.30am. This i
s a said communion service with readings and prayer. \n\nAshes are an anci
ent sign of penitence. From the Middle Ages onward it has been a custom to
begin Lent by having the sign of the cross marked on one’s forehead in
ash. Lent is a time of preparation for the whole Christian community to en
 gage with study and self-reflection.
