 g of the Messiah.\n\nOur readings and liturgy direct us towards Christ's b
 irth and we endeavour to do so with a sense of alert watchfulness\, and ou
 r fundamental Advent prayer remains 'Maranatha' - 'Our Lord\, come' (1 Cor
 . 16:22).\n\nOur readings this week come from Isaiah 11:1-10\, Romans 15:4
 -13\, and Matthew 3:1-12.\n\nOur hymns are\, 'A great and mighty wonder'\,
  and 'Hills of the North\, rejoice'.\n\nYou may wish to have an advent wre
