DESCRIPTION:The annual Sponsored Ride and Stride is a national event\, and
  every second Saturday in September cyclists\, walkers and runners are out
  making money for their local county Churches Trust.\n\nThe idea started i
 n Suffolk\, and is now held across England\, with Suffolk leading the tabl
 e of funds raised.  The Ride and Stride is the main source of income to Su
 ffolk Historic Churches Trust to enable it to make grants to churches and 
 chapels of all denominations towards repair and restoration costs.\n\nRide
  and Stride is run entirely by volunteers and is inter-denominational\, wi
 th participants sponsored for each place of worship visited between 9.00am
  and 5.00pm on Ride and Stride Day or with a donation\, regardless of the 
 number of churches visited.\n\nThe money raised by each cyclist or walker 
 is shared equally between the Suffolk Historic Churches Trust and the plac
 e of worship nominated by the participant.\n\nAs important as the particip
 ants are the many volunteers who give up the day to man the churches and c
 hapels and sign in the cyclists and walkers as they arrive.  Hundreds of p
 laces of worship are manned during the day and that takes quite a team of 
 volunteers!  It is a real community effort that is the lifeblood of the Tr
 ust.

 Faithful Departed on All Souls’ Day both celebrate this mutual belonging
 . \n\nAll Saints’ Day celebrates men and women in whose lives the Church
  as a whole has seen the grace of God powerfully at work. It is an opportu
 nity to give thanks for that grace\, and for the wonderful ends to which i
 t shapes a human life\; it is a time to be encouraged by the example of th
 e saints and to recall that sanctity may grow in the ordinary circumstance
 s\, as well as the extraordinary crises\, of human living. \n\nThe Commemo
 ration of the Faithful Departed celebrates the saints in a more local and 
 intimate key. It allows us to remember with thanksgiving before God those 
 whom we have known more directly: those who gave us life\, or who nurtured
  us in faith.\n\nThis service is open to all who would like to remember lo
 ved ones who have died. There will be an opportunity to light a candle to
