Lent is a time where we would typically get together for study, worship, prayer, and support. As the global pandemic has forced a shift, we are providing something new: An at-home Lenten study. From the comfort and safety of our homes, this 6 week study allows members of St. Mary's, the Methodist Church, and any interested member of the community to participate.

This booklet contains weekly readings, scriptures, thought provoking questions, and prayers. You can use this booklet any way you like! It is yours to keep. If you would like more copies, printed or digital, ask Sarah or Sue. The study is called “Stories of Hope” and is based on the book 40 Stories of Hope.

(If you are interested in purchasing the book it can be found at

Suggested uses:

- Personal Study: Go through the booklet week by week on your own. Self reflection and meditating on God's word are essential for knowing Him and His plan for our lives.

- Family Study: Gather the members of your household and go through the study together. Family discussions and prayers can bring unity for families of all shapes and sizes.

- Friends and Neighbours Study: Pick up the phone and call a friend or neighbour to find out if they will go through the study with you. Daily or weekly phone calls or video chats are great for deepening bonds of friendship and learning about scripture.

- Congregational Study: As a church body, we want to uplift one another, pray together, and hold each other accountable. You can call in during Wednesday evening Bible sessions (coming soon with Zoom link), come to services, or message other members of the congregation and work through the booklet together.

Let us make this Lenten season one of humility, charity, and unity, as we turn our hearts, minds, and souls to the Lord.
