Covid Cannot Cancel Christmas

12 Dec 2020, 1 p.m.

There’s no doubt that Christmas this year will be different for all of us, and incredibly difficult
for many of us. Yet the same hope of Christmas remains. When Jesus Christ was born into the world, he was given the name Immanuel, which means “God with us.” This is our greatest hope: Jesus came to bring us home to God.

Just as Jesus arrived into a world full of uncertainty, darkness, and brokenness 2000 years ago, so he comes to dwell with ordinary and troubled people today, bringing love, hope, and peace.

We at St Paul’s Church are finding things hard too. But, even in crisis, Christ Jesus continues to
bring us hope and comfort. We would love to share something of that hope with you this Christmas.
