Getting married?

All the churches in the benefice are popular with couples about to be married.

Within the Benefice it is not just the church buildings that are special: you are too. We go to great lengths to ensure that your Church wedding is a unique event, specially tailored to meet your own unique personal circumstances.

Once a date is set, you will be invited to a day of marriage preparation, in which the two of you are guided through a structured set of discussions with each other about the aspects of your future life together that increase your chances of having a happy, fulfilling and long marriage together. Even sceptical couples come away saying that the day has been both worthwhile and enjoyable:

We would both like to thank you for today and to thank all those involved. We both really enjoyed ourselves and would definitely recommend it for any future couples. Everyone was so friendly and the food was amazing.

It was a very well thought out and presented day. It was lovely to sit and relax and just think about getting married. Although we have been together 17 years we are pleased to be securing our and our children’s future. The food was all totally amazing and was very filling. It was very kind of you to feed us all.

One of our ministry team will then work with to customise your wedding service to include your songs and readings within the framework of a Church of England wedding. This year, the level of support required and provided has been exceptional but be assured that we support you through the process sensitively:

[Our wedding day] was the most magical day, thank you for all your patience and advice throughout the whole process. It wasn't a totally smooth planning process due to the global pandemic but I think it was all the more sweet because of that. The service was really beautiful and all our friends and family said how lovely your sermon was too.

We’re still there for you once you are married, both as a church and as a ministry team. We invest a lot of our time and love into your wedding day and we remain committed to supporting you throughout your married life together.
