Church of England Diocese of Truro Manaccan

Retirement Announcement

1 Mar 2021, 9 a.m.

Mike says:

I have had the privilege to be the Priest-in-Charge of the Meneage Benefice for just over two years, but following a heart attack a few months ago I have decided to reduce my commitments and stand down from that responsibility.

In line with the Church of England rule regarding retiring/resigning clergy, I shall not be taking services for the next six months, but hope to assist as from September. (There are exceptions to this rule for some weddings and funerals during the six month period - your churchwardens will advise.)

Keep being a spiritual seeker and use your imagination to find that something……..See God in creation and in love…….

Message from the churchwardens:

Following Mike’s departure as from 1st March, the four churches of the Meneage Benefice will remain in ‘transition’ (ie without a vicar). If you wish for help in any way at all or more information, please contact one of the churchwardens of your preferred church.

The churchwardens wish to express their sadness in this early retirement, but assure you that our churches are still there for everyone, and look forward to opening up for services as soon as is safely possible.
