We trust by now that everyone in the Parish knows that Rev'd Geoffrey Pengelly will be retiring as of 30th September. Geoffrey has been with us for 29 years and as well as being our priest, he has been a friend to many, both inside the church and the wider community. He has been with many of us through life-changing events in our lives, and despite not being able to drive due to his own eyesight problems, has always been very supportive of those who have needed his help. His presence in the community will be sorely missed.
We are organising a collection for him throughout the Benefice and we plan to purchase vouchers so that when he is finally able to enjoy his well deserved retirement, he and Rosemary can visit gardens, see wildlife, visit historic buildings and generally several of those things that most of us aim to do in retirement. If you would like to make a contribution to the collection, cheques can be made payable to either P Griffiths or D Perrin and all donations, cheques or cash, handed to Helen Uglow or Ray Harvey. Alternatively, please deposit in the collection boxes in the church by 13th September.
Helen & Ray,
