On the fourth Sunday of the month we normally hold an increasingly popular service, with children and their parents very much to the fore.
Our service on 25th October was beautifully typical. With Jo Fitzgerald ably at the helm, the main theme was Jesus "showing the way" in this troubled world, highlighted by a wonderful presentation by Julie Bearns and her daughter Olivia.
They very cleverly used coloured plastic cups and a safety lighted tea candles to build a miniature lighthouse, whilst describing the different types we see around our coast to guide sailors away from the dangers of the threatening rocks.
More cups and tea candles were passed around the congregation by children so that others too could build their own lighthouses, each of them shining the light of Jesus to guide us away from the dangers of the world.
All this was beautifully underscored by the song,
"My Lighthouse" by Gareth Gilkeson & Chris Llewellyn.
The service was ended by inviting people to take away a daffodil bulb planting kit, to be used as a lasting remembrance of those who are ill, troubled or, with Remembrance Sunday to follow, have sacrificed their lives so that we may live in safety.
If you would like to bring your children to our family services then you would be warmly welcomed. Please use our "Get In Touch" page to ask for more details.
