Church of England Diocese of Truro North Petherwin

A different Christingle for us this year

17 Dec 2020, 12:45 a.m.

With this year's Christingle service having to be cancelled we arranged instead for all the pupils of North Petherwin School to receive their very own Christingle bag.

So, after our Morning Worship service on 13th January, many from the congregation prepared Christingle bags for all the children in the school, each one including an angel handmade by the ladies of the W.i. Please refer to our photo of the bags ready to go. This photo was kindly taken for us by Bill Willis, a member of our congregation.

Then, earlier this week, the bags were collected by the Headmaster of North Petherwin School, to be taken to the school for distribution to all the children.

You may like to download the attached article describing the Christingle tradition in detail.

A separate article, entitled North Petherwin Angels, includes a link to a gallery of Angels in our parish, which features a photo of the W.I. Angels destined for the Christingle bags.
