Our Christmas Day Communion

28 Dec 2020, 4:45 a.m.

Our Holy Communion service this Christmas Day was led by the Rev'd Alison Hardy in team with the Rev'd Nicki Farr. Bible passages were read by members of the congregation and the Intercessions by Ray, one of our Church Wardens. The Christmas Day candle was lit on the Advent Wreath and the infant Jesus, Mary and Joseph were finally added to the Church Crib.

Much missed from the service was the singing of carols but Jo, our resident Church organist, gave us further uplift to our Christmas spirits by her beautiful interpretations of the carols in music form only.

The sermon was presented by the Rev'd Nicki Farr. Nicki is able to inspire by the depth and variety of her chosen subject and today was no exception. She began by asking the penetrating question "Who is God?". This is a question we all ask and Nicki was able to weave our thoughts and understanding through to the answer that God is Jesus Christ, born this day in a lowly stable in the the little town of Bethlehem. Nicki got us thinking of our individual ourselves as a single piece in a huge jigsaw, which is clearly not complete until all the pieces are in place. And so it is with our wonderful but troubled World.

A happy and Joyous Christmas to you all.
