Church of England Diocese of Truro North Petherwin

A layman's point of view for May

Judging by the attendance figures for ours and many thousands of other churches, the stark answer to this question is probably no.

If you are one of those people, or even if you do go to church but only for major services such as at Christmas, weddings, funerals and, perhaps, on Easter Sunday, then it would be worthwhile asking yourself why.

I have been one of those people for intermittent periods of my life, periods sometimes lasting for several years, each time kidding myself that I didn't need to go to church to worship and pray to God.

But kidding it most definitely was and so each time I have in the end returned to the fold with great joy and strengthened faith.

Why don't you give it a try?
