Church Notices

The rearrangement of the benefices in Trigg Major Deanery.

Following the appointment of all three clergy to Trigg Major Deanery, Truro Diocese is now seeking to put into place the legal framework for the new benefices. Altarnun will formally become part of Three Rivers Benefice (South Petherwin) and the rest of Moorland Benefice will join with Egloskerry Benefice to form one benefice from the two. Key points are listed below. Please ask your churchwardens or priests if you wish to see the full document.

A new benefice which shall be named "The Moorland and Egloskerry Benefice", which shall be a rectory, shall be created in the diocese of Truro, and the area of the new benefice shall comprise of the parishes of Egloskerry with Tresmere; North Petherwin; Tremaine; Trewen; Laneast; Saint Clether; and Davidstow, which parishes shall continue distinct.

Revd Alison Hardy will become the Rector of the newly formed Benefice of Moorland and Egloskerry. The parsonage house of the benefice of Egloskerry with Tresmere, North Petherwin, Tremaine and Trewen (known as The Vicarage, Egloskerry, Launceston, PL15 8RX) shall without any conveyance or other assurance be vested in the incumbent of the new benefice in her corporate capacity as her official residence.

The Bishop is required to ascertain the views of all the interested parties. The Diocesan Mission and Pastoral Committee will consider the views of all interested parties before coming to a final decision on what, if any, recommendations it should make to the Bishop. A Parochial Church Council or its appointed representative may request to meet the Committee's representatives to discuss its views. If you have any views or wish to request a meeting, please forward in writing as soon as possible and not later than by 20 September 2021.
