The Friends of Lanteglos Church have started raising funds for a full restoration of the bells. At present they are unsafe to ring and will need to be taken down and refurbished at a bell foundry. 3 bells date from the 16th century.. they were recast in 1783 with 3 more bells in a field about a mile away from the church. The field is still called Bell Field by oral tradition but mistakenly written on the 19th century tithe map a Well Field and is next to the A39 at Helstone.

The bells went off to John Taylor's Bell Foundry to be re-tuned and refurbished. They are now back and will be officially rung for the first time this Christmas Eve (see event notice)
