Recently, I was playing video clips in our two morning services, and speaking about the excellent work of the Bible Society - and its wonderful 8-week video- and discussion based ‘Bible Course’. Peter Kane, our Lay Minister, led this course online during July and August (supported by Pauline Fenwick and Marie Smalley), and it was so well received that we've decided to run it again - this time on alternate Monday evenings - so that others could access the material, and have a chance to participate in this very well produced resource. We’re hoping that, in time, everyone in our two churches will be able to take part in this course - it’s so well thought through, and really accessible.

The evenings will consist of two sections of video (totalling about 25 minutes), talking about the background and flow of the Bible text: how it was put together, the languages it was written in, and how the various types of Scripture work together to build up the Bible as we know it today; and the rest of the sessions will involve discussions within the group - in which everyone is welcome to participate, but no-one is under pressure to speak! Peter will again lead the sessions, supported by Pauline - and, informally, by several of those who have been through it before.

Each session will start at 7.30pm (please try to arrive at least 5 minutes early), and will be finished by 9pm. The dates for these sessions are as follows (all on Monday evenings) - for your diary:

November 16 and 30;  December 14;  January 11 and 25;  February 8 and 22; March

There will be a little bit of reading to do between sessions - perhaps 5 minutes per day. But the main thing is that folk turn up and enjoy it!

If you would like to attend - or find out more - please email Pauline [email protected] copying in Peter [email protected] . Pauline will then email you the link to join in. Thank you.

I really hope you’ll consider taking part - and it's not too late to join in!
