Church of England Diocese of Leeds St. John the Evangelist Hipswell

Covid-19 and our local responses

Although for the last few weeks the buildings of St John's, Hipswell, and St Cuthbert's, Colburn, have been closed, we're still active as church communities. We're meeting for Sunday Worship by Zoom at 11am each week, followed by 'virtual' tea and coffee. We meet on Monday evenings at 7.15pm to share simple prayers or verses which have touched us, stories of what's going on in our lives. On Thursday nights at 8.15pm - after the clap for the NHS - we meet up to pray: for our people, our wider community and for the world. If you would like to explore joining us for any of those, or have needs for prayer, please email: [email protected] Please also click on the link below for articles, reflections, sermons and notices posted on our website at: http://www.hipswellparish.org.uk/notices/

We're also looking out for each other with a telephone 'buddy system', collecting prescriptions and shopping for some of those who are self-isolating; and encouraging our folk to support local initiatives, eg the Covid-19 Colburn Village Hall  Scrub Makers: https://www.thenorthernecho.co.uk/news/local/northyorkshire/18386028.colburn-scrub-makers-thank-local-supporters/
