Church of England Diocese of Ely

Rooted locally: 5 folds grouping

Phase 1 of Northstowe lies within the Church of England parish of St Michael and All Saints Longstanton.

This means that All Saints Longstanton is our parish church. This is the ancient building where we normally conduct weddings. We baptise both in Northstowe and in the parish church of Longstanton. We also partner with the local church community there for special occasions such as Remembrance or "midnight" Communion at Christmas

If you are seeking a special service for a significant life event in Northstowe or the surrounding villages, do get in touch.

A new grouping of 5 communities: 5 folds

Northstowe is being built between several ancient villages. We are currently in the process of joining 5 of these communities together to form a team of churches, known as 5 folds. This will be made up of

  * Northstowe
  * Longstanton
  * Willingham
  * Swavesey
  * Over

Already, we are starting to work more closely, with a number of people now appointed to roles working across the soon-to-be-formed team

Revd Jenny Hill has been licensed to all four of the ancient parishes as interim priest-in-charge and is helping prepare for a new Team Rector.

Revd Dr Beth Cope is the Ordained Pioneer Minister not just in Northstowe but across the 4 ancient parishes, although her primary focus is the new housing.

In January, we will be joined by Jan Payne, as our new Licensed Lay Minister.

The parishes also share an administrator: Gillian Beal.
