  e vivace  \n\n\nCharles Andrews is Organist of the Temple Church and prof
 essor of organ and Organ co-ordinator at the Royal College of Music\, cont
 inuing a long-standing connection between the two institutions. Charles st
 udied at the RCM with David Graham\, Sophie-Véronique Cauchefer-Choplin\,
  John Barstow and John Blakely with the aid of a Douglas & Kyra Downie Awa
 rd\, achieving the Harold Darke Memorial Prize for organ. \n \nBefore join
 ing the Temple Church\, Charles was Associate Director of Music at All Sai
 nts\, Margaret Street\, one of London’s most prestigious music departmen
 ts\, from 2011-16. Recently\, four live performances with Temple Church Ch
 oir have been broadcast on BBC Radio 3\, including the first performance o
 f Carmina tempore viri by Kenneth Hesketh (nominated for an Ivor Novello A
 ward) in 2021. A solo recital of British music\, recorded at the Temple Ch
 urch\, was released in October 2025. \n \nCharles’s playing can be heard
  at weekly services and concerts at the Temple Church\, continuing the vir
 tuoso tradition of such predecessors as George Thalben-Ball and John Birch
 .  \n\n\nThe Temple Church organ\nThe organ in the Temple church was built
  in 1924 for the Castle of Glen Tanar\, Aberdeenshire\, and installed in 1
 954 in the rebuilt church (following war damage)\, the gift of Lord Glenta
 nar. The organ case was designed by W. E. Godfrey and installed in 1966 an
 d is modelled on drawings of the Temple’s Father Smith organ of 1688\, s
 howing the crests of Inner and Middle Temple. The organ was rebuilt in 201
 3 by Harrison and Harrison of Durham and has 66 stops over four manuals. \
