  Scholar at Wells Cathedral where he studies organ with award-winning orga
 nist Carolyn Craig as a specialist musician at Wells Cathedral School. He 
 started learning the organ in 2018 with Shean Bowers whilst he was a chori
 ster at Bath Abbey and subsequently the Abbey’s organ scholar from 2024-
 25. He achieved a distinction in Grade 8 organ in 2024 and gained his LTCL
  performance diploma in 2025.\n\nGavin has taken part in many courses and 
 masterclasses\, receiving advice from renowned organists and teachers such
  as Thomas Trotter\, Isabelle Demers\, David Hill and Daniel Moult. He has
  also enjoyed successes in organ competitions including 1st Prize in the J
 unior Class of the 2024 London Teenage Organ Competition\; a highly commen
 ded award in the 2024 Northern Ireland International Organ Competition\; a
 nd 1st Prize in the Bach Class of the 2026 Bristol Eisteddfod Organ Sectio
 n. \n\nIn addition to performing\, Gavin enjoys composition and improvisat
 ion. His choral work “Spirit Divine” was recorded in February 2024 for
  a CD marking the 150th Anniversary of Bath Abbey Boys’ Choir. Selected 
 as one of ten young composers for the ORA Singers composition scheme\, Gav
 in received mentoring sessions from Richard Allain\, and his choral piece 
 “Alma Redemptoris Mater” was performed by the ORA Singers last July in
  London. He currently studies composition with Paul Whitmarsh and has had 
 pieces performed in Wells Cathedral as part of a composer’s concert. He 
 recently took part in a composition masterclass with renowned composer Che
 ryl Frances-Hoad. \n\nGavin also studies piano and achieved a distinction 
 in Grade 8 piano in March 2024 and received a highly commended award in Ba
 th Young Musician 2025. He enjoys playing and singing in many ensembles at
  Wells Cathedral School\, where he is currently studying for sixth form\, 
 including the school’s symphony orchestra\, early music groups\, chamber
  choir\, and in pop and funk bands with fellow students. Gavin enjoys play
 ing in bands for musical theatre productions and has played keyboard and p
 ercussion in many musicals including School of Rock\, Beauty and the Beast
 \, Oliver\, Evita\, Addams Family\, and the Sound of Music.
