Giving at Holy Rood

Why give?

We give of our talents and money as an expression of gratitude for all that God has provided for us. This isn’t simply fundraising to meet needs – it’s an act of worship.

At Holy Rood we are grateful for support of all kinds. In addition to our clergy we have a small number of salaried staff and many volunteers who work hard to fulfil the mission and ministry of the church in this area, and to enable our beautiful and historic church to be passed on to future generations, for the spiritual benefit of all. All this is made possible by the financial support of our congregation and friends.

We give to our Church in a variety of ways, but with the past closure of all our buildings we have not been able to receive all the gifts that we usually receive, so we really need your help now. If you are able to give more at this time, please visit our online donations page by selecting the Donate Now function on the front page.

Other ways you can give

If you would like to join us in supporting the mission and ministry of Holy Rood church, we invite you to join our Planned Giving scheme. The easiest way to do this is by setting up a bank standing order. Forms are available from our Treasurer and Churchwardens (email [email protected], Tel 0115 9234695)

CAF DONATE

We use CAF DONATE (www.cafonline.org) as our online giving platform. They are a charity, like us, and they put any surplus they make towards their mission to make giving count. It is free to sign up to CAF Donate and there are no monthly fees, however they do charge a small amount for each donation but it is kept to a minimum. e.g. One-off donations, the charge is 3.6% of the total donation (including Gift Aid).  Example: £10 donation + £2.50 Gift Aid = £12.50 total donation - 3.6% fee = £12.05 to us.

Other platforms were reviewed but felt that CAF Donate suited us better at this time. We will develop other processes going forward.
