Even though our Church is closed for public worship we are still supporting The Great Notts Christmas Toy Appeal who write;
It’s that time of year again when we are putting together the annual toy collection.
The Appeal welcomes all of our returning organisations as well as several new companies. HSBC Bank, Clumber Street and Pinnacle Surveyors have both joined us in the past month.
This year has been a challenging one for everyone but especially so for the organisations we help. A rise in unemployment and people confined at home for long periods has taken its toll on our society and children, of course, are the worst hit. There has been a huge increase in demand for the services we help. I am hoping we can respond, as we always do, with lots of toys!
We have created a short advert to reach those people and any church can broadcast this before an online service or attach it to any recordings shown in church. It is available on You Tube https://youtu.be/62Od1bjz-vg
There will, inevitably, be changes to how we collect at the hall this year and details will be circulated nearer the collection dates as we see what restrictions are in place. Even Tier 3 status in the city allows for you to bring toys to us and for us to continue running as normal. Volunteers can be sure all facilities will be risk assessed and hand sanitisers etc. will be in place over the appeal days. We may be using the church itself instead of the church hall this year but we will let you know more about this nearer the time.
Website and Facebook
We use both. Our website address is: https://christmastoys.homesteadcloud.com
If you are on Facebook, find ‘The Great Notts Christmas Toy Appeal’ and put in a request to join. It is the best way to get up to date news of the appeal.
Good Luck Everyone!
