DESCRIPTION:Posada is a Mexican Christmas tradition which takes place duri
 ng Advent in Spanish-speaking countries\, The Spanish word "posada" means 
 "inn" or "lodging". Las Posadas commemorates Mary and Joseph's journey to 
 Bethlehem and their search for a place to stay.  In our churches\, small f
 igures of Mary and Joseph travel around different households in the commun
 ity and stay there for one night. It is open to everyone\, and families fi
 nd it is a wonderful way to be involved in the Christmas story. We are ask
 ing families to sign up in advance\, offering to host Mary and Joseph for 
 one night between 7th December and 21st December. The figures will be retu
 rned to the church at our Carol service as everyone prepares to welcome th
 e Christ child once again.
