DESCRIPTION:Within our Maundy Thursday worship\, we remember the Last Supp
 er that Jesus shared with his disciples\, in the Upper Room. \n\nAs we cel
 ebrate Holy Communion\, we continue to be obedient to the words of Jesus a
 t the Supper \, to "do this in remembrance of me." (1 Corinthians 11.24) A
 t the Supper Jesus washed his disciples feet\, and gave them the "new comm
 andment"\, to "love one another as I have loved you." (John 13.34)\n\nTher
 e will be footwashing within our service\, whilst at the end we have a vig
 il of silent prayer remembering Christ's poignant request to his disciples
  to keep watch with him. \n\nMaundy Thursday offers a most special and mov
 ing act of worship.  We remember the words from John's gospel that begin h
 is account of the Last Supper: " Having loved his own who were in the worl
 d\, Jesus now loved them to the end." (John 13.1)
