We are in unchartered waters and unprecedented times! Never-the-less, it is good to see so many people pulling together and reaching out to help those who are particularly challenged by the restrictions placed upon us all.
The Church of St John the Baptist, like all churches across the country is now closed. However, although we cannot meet, we continue to pray and offer worship and do what we can to serve and offer the spiritual help that so many need.
As part of that spiritual help, booklets have been produced to comfort and encourage people to pray at this difficult time. Please see our Prayer Resources page and use this booklet as seems best and most helpful for you. That might mean saying morning or evening prayer or, from time to time, simply reading and saying one of the prayers that are included for your use.
Be assured that the church is continuing to pray for you and your loved ones, as we make our way through this time of great uncertainty. If you would like the church to pray for you please feel able to make contact with Reverend Peter Hart on this number 01543 579660 and I would be pleased to respond.
I think the words below from St Paul are a source of great comfort:
“ For I am convinced that neither death, nor life, nor angels, nor rulers, nor things present, nor things to come, nor powers, nor height, nor depth, nor anything else in all creation, will be able to separate us from the love of God in Christ Jesus our Lord.” Romans 8:38-39
