St James has been prepared to open for private prayer. It will open on Sunday mornings and Wednesday afternoons.

St James will be open on Sunday mornings from 9.00 am - 12.00 noon and Wednesdays 2.00 pm - 6.00 pm

We are delighted that today a working party went through a detailed risk assessment so that we could open St James for private prayer. Yes we know that you will find God on mountain tops and in deep valleys, in dark streets and noisy manufacturing places in quiet gardens and in the darkest hours of the middle of the night. But it is good to go into a place where people have gone to be with God for more than 500 years. So come in, bring your sadness, or your anxieties, your anger and frustrations, your hurt and your loss and place it at the foot of the cross so that God can help you deal with it. Be still and listen.

Please respect the areas we have taped off to make cleaning possible. St James is a big church and if it is to be safe for everyone to come in we may need to clean it. However many of us at St James have to self isolate still so with only a few of us able to clean we hope you will understand why only the central area of the church is open to you.

When you come in please use the hand sanitiser and then sit for as long as you wish on the pews that are open. We have taped off every other row so that even if there ae 20 people in church you will all be 2 metres apart.

Loving God, we thank you for this house of prayer. We pray that all who seek you in this place will find you and be filled with your holy Spirit. Protect, guide and console us all at this time, in Jesus Christ, our Lord. Amen
