Silver Award for Holy Trinity Churchyard

After a break last year the Lichfield Diocesan Churchyard Awards were back for 2021. We were delighted to receive a Silver Award and a Nature Friendly Award for our churchyard here at Holy Trinity. The award was presented by the Bishop of Lichfield on 23rd October.

The judges were clearly impressed by our churchyard, which, at 7 acres, is one of the largest in the diocese. They provided feedback on what we are doing well and where we could do better, in conclusion they wrote:

'It was very encouraging to see the community involvement, such as a work party mowing and gardening on one of our visits. And considering the size of the challenge, what is being achieved is wonderful. Thank you all so much for your hard work. Your efforts and commitment are ensuring that this churchyard is a real sign of hope within the community and witness to an active church community. Thank you!'

If you've not walked round the churchyard recently now is a good time to enjoy the autumn colour. If you'd like to help keep the churchyard looking its best please see the next Churchyard Gardening on our events page or get in touch.
