We are pleased to announce that the Bishop of Lichfield has appointed a new Vicar of the Benefice of Barton-under-Needwood with Dunstall and Tatenhill.
After a selection process and interview, the Revd Andy Simpson, presently Vicar of the Skirlaugh and Sigglesthorne Benefices in the Diocese of York, was selected and has kindly agreed to move to Staffordshire. It is hoped that his institution by the Bishop of Lichfield will take place before Christmas.
From a background in financial services, Andy went to Durham University and was ordained in 2009. He is coming to us from a Benefice of 9 parishes in Yorkshire, where he has had 11 successful years with a range of schools work, building projects and growing church. He describes his other interests as music, rugby and beer and he has a passion for Vespa scooters, so it should be a great ride.
We are all looking forward to getting know and working with him to take our churches forward out of lockdown.
