It is not often that small country parish has the honour to be visited by the Bishop of the Diocese and we were extremely grateful to Bishop Michael for preaching and celebrating the Eucharist on our 900th Patronal Festival. He brought a message of hope in these dark times and emphasised the significance of the community of faith. We took advantage of this special occasion to have some singing by a small choir which everyone said enhanced the service. Thank you to all who helped make this a very special occasion. Last word to Bishop Michael:
'You cannot imagine how cheered I was by my visit to Hamstall Ridware. It is a wonderful church; it was a huge privilege to use the fourteenth century chalice and paten (and an immeasurable relief not to drop either); but above all people’s commitment, enthusiasm and enjoyment were almost tangible. Thank you so much for inviting me.'
