DESCRIPTION:The church continues to hold the Cutler Cafe on the last Satur
 day of every month between 10am to 12 noon.We held the first one in Januar
 y and it was a great success.\n\nThe cafe is named in honour of Sir Gervas
 e and Lady Magdalen Cutler who are buried in St. James's chapel.   The Cut
 lers were possibly the most eminent couple who have ever lived in Silkston
 e Parish\, Lady Magdelen was a direct descendent of Henry VII and her husb
 and a prominent supporter of Charles I.\n\nWe serve filter coffee\, a sele
 ction of teas\, homemade cakes and Canon Hall farm shop currant teacakes w
 ith home made jam in the chancel of our ancient parish church.   As well a
 s selling tempting drinks and cake there is a wealth of information in Sil
 kstone church concerning the rich history of the parish. \n\nEveryone is v
 ery welcome to enjoy sampling our food and drink\, meet up with family and
  friends and to discovering more about village history.
