Many people cry out for our attention. Voices saying listen to me because I have the secret to… happiness, or success, or fitness, or long life, or the secret of what lies ahead, or… and so the choice goes on. It has always been like this, and it always will be. Out of all these voices, who do you listen to? One more voice amongst the many trying to win our attention, is Jesus. Today, as we look at Mark 9:2-13, we reach the destination of his relentless journey north, and there we're offered a very good reason to listen to him above all others. And it is why we 'gather' to worship him this morning.
