We now come to the final week of the Easter story and hear about Jesus’ entry into Jerusalem – which was crowded with Jewish people gathering at the start of the festival of Passover.
This is when He announces clearly who He is – a King – but King of a heavenly kingdom. All this was prophesied in the Old Testament.
He enters on a donkey to symbolise that He is not an earthly king – but not everyone understands.
This is an important part of the Christian story and it is important young people understand this.
