DESCRIPTION:We would like to invite people in Battle to bring in a framed 
 photo of loved ones or family involved in service in World War II. The fra
 mes will be displayed in the window sills of St Mary’s from 7th May for 
 2 weeks. Feel free to add a description of their service or how you are re
 lated.\nOn 6th May\, we are holding our first poppy making workshop from 2
 -4pm in the Benedicta Whistler Centre. Feel free to come along and bring y
 our knitting or crochet with you.\nThere will be a small poppy installatio
 n in the St Catherine’s Chapel from 7th May for two weeks.\nOn the day o
 f the 80th anniversary of V.E. Day\, 8th May\, we will have our usual mid-
 week service at 10.30am with special prayers for the anniversary and follo
 wing that we will hold two minutes of silence at 12 noon around the War Me
 morial. \nWe will join with the town as the beacon is lit in the evening o
 n Caldbec Hill to commemorate the end of World War II.
