Church of England Diocese of Chichester East Hoathly

Changes in Worship Practice

6 Aug 2021, 5 p.m.

Mask Wearing, Hand Sanitizing and Social Distancing

We are still asking people to please wear face a covering (properly, over nose and mouth to be effective).

Use the hand sanitizer provided

Be mindful of keeping a social distance with others - but it is okay to sit where you like and with others if you all agree that you are happy with that. The layout of the churches remains largely unchanged for the present to support social distancing - but all the pews at Chiddingly have been 'opened up'

Choirs and Congregational singing

We are allowing for the possibility of Choirs singing when they are ready.

We plan to try singing congregational hymns together (wearing masks) initially with one or two hymns and if that works plan to sing more.

The Peace, The collection and the Administration of Holy Communion

For the time being arrangements for all these will remain the same as we have been doing over recent times.

After service refreshments

We are allowing for this to begin again and will be looking further at the practicalities of doing this safely

Test and Trace

You no longer need to 'sign-in' for test and trace purposes. However, we are leaving the QR codes up and the Government are encouraging people to keep using these if they have the app.
