Restarting Sunday Church Services

10 Jul 2020, 5:45 p.m.

Dear All

This is to let you all know that services are restarting this Sunday, at 10.00 am at St. Laurence, Lurgashall. We are following government guidelines, pews have been marked off, sanitiser made available, and many other ways to keep everybody safe. The service will be much like the ones we have been videoing and sending out each week, and we will continue to send these out weekly for those who feel unable to come back into church just yet. We will not be having communion until such time as this can be distributed without the 2metre social distancing - which hurts me as much as I’m sure it hurts you. But we all have to continue to keep safe in these times. There also can be no singing, so sadly this will not happen until it is permitted again. Pews will be marked off to show which pews are available, and they are for one person or family group. Service and reading sheets will be on the pews ready for you - please take these away with you at the end of the service. I am sure that everyone will adhere to the 2m rules, and whilst it will be lovely to see each other again, there can be no group or physical contact between people from different families for the time being!

We will be holding one service on a Sunday morning across the Benefice, so here are the dates up until the end of August - do please come along, even if it isn’t your usual church venue! I’m sorry for the reduction in number of services, but it is for everybody’s safety. All morning services will be at 10am - please note the change to the old service times for now.
