Church of England Diocese of Chichester Ewhurst

CHURCHES RE-OPEN

5 Jul 2020, 9:45 a.m.

‘I rejoiced when I heard them say, let us go to the house of the Lord.’

Psalm 122.1

We are taking a cautious and phased approach, and this is what has been planned and agreed by the churchwardens of both parishes:

SUNDAY 5th July: Recorded Service from St Mark’s.

11.15am AN OUTSIDE FAMILY SERVICE AT ST. GILES’S CHURCH, BODIAM.

Sunday 12th July: 9.30am A SAID COMMUNION SERVICE AT ST. JAMES’S CHURCH, EWHURST

Sunday 19th July: 9.30am MORNING PRAYER AND ADDRESS at St James’s Church.

Sunday 26th July: ST JAMES’S CHURCH PATRONAL FESTIVAL

9.30am, said PATRONAL EUCHARIST with music: The Preacher will be Bishop Richard Llewellen, a former bishop at Lambeth.

There will be no singing of hymns at these services, but looking ahead, we very much hope to resume the old pattern of services in our three churches in the month of August. Note for your diary:

Sunday 2nd August:

9.30am said Parish Communion at St James’s

11.15am LAMMASTIDE FAMILY SERVICE at St Giles’s Church, Bodiam

Work progresses well with the Tea Station at St James, and we are most grateful to all those who in various ways are helping this to happen. It will be a joy to have this facility, and to extend hospitality to the wider community.
