The opening of church buildings for private prayer
Following the news last week that places of worship can be open for individual prayer, the Wardens
have met with Fr. Keith to consider the Diocesan advice, discuss our situation in the Parish and
most importantly to pray for guidance. The outcome is that at this stage we have decided to keep
both churches closed. The overwhelming majority of parishioners who have expressed an opinion
have been of the views that whilst longing for the day when we can worship together again have no
immediate desire for our churches to be open for private prayer. We will of course keep this
decision under review. We also continue to provide online services and encourage the use of other
media to enable worship to take place (e.g. Church of England Daily Hope Line and accessing our
Zoom service via the telephone). We also hope to extend the opportunities for study groups very
shortly. Fr. Keith and the Wardens will be very pleased to receive any further comments about the
opening of our churches via the Parish office email, letter or telephone voicemail.
Please note that Fr. Keith will be on annual leave next week 22nd - 27th June inclusive. In an
All services will still take place. Fr. Keith will prerecord Tuesday Evening Prayer and Keith Lelliott
(Reader) will be taking Morning Prayer on Thursday 25th. June.

Thursday Morning Prayer will be held every Thursday at 10.00am via Zoom.
