Hello from the curate: Father Neill Stannard

I am really looking forward to joining you all in Goring; in St. Mary’s and St. Laurence’s. I am passionate about

mission, evangelism and preaching; prior to ordination I worked in boarding schools as a housemaster, head of

theology and director of rugby.

I played rugby for thirty years, coached for twenty and I’m a huge Saracens fan. Most mornings, I can be found

walking the coast or the Downs with my German Shepherd; praying, reflecting on the finer points of theology or

thinking about the England team sheet!

I am married to Kirsty and we have three children. Kirsty works for St. Peter’s Church in Brighton, Ben is taking a

post-grad degree in maths at Jesus College, Oxford, Grace has just started her undergraduate degree reading

English at York, and Hope is at Lancing Prep. We also have three cats all named after Harry Potter characters!

Our whole family has fallen in love with Worthing and Goring for the local people, cafes, bars and the beach.

These are challenging times yet also exciting times; God is at work and there are blessings aplenty!

World’s Biggest Coffee Morning will be held in St Mary’s Church Hall Saturday 10th October 2020

between 10.00 a.m. - 12 noon, and between 2.00 p.m. – 4.00 p.m. Social distancing and restrictions adhered to.

Come to enjoy coffee, tea, cake and importantly, company. You may prefer to purchase on a “Take-Away” basis.

All proceeds to MacMillan Cancer Relief work. Please contact Janice Lelliott if wish to attend by email to

[email protected] or telephone 01903 504384.
