DESCRIPTION:This is a wonderfully joyful start to our celebration of Easte
 r! The lights of the church are switched off and the congregation\, all wi
 th small unlit candles\, gather outside the porch where a new fire is kind
 led. The Paschal Candle\, symbolising Christ\, the Light of the World\, is
  prepared and lit and the light is carried through the church and progress
 ively passed to the whole congregation. The Exsultet\, that great Easter s
 ong of praise\, is sung and then\, during the singing of the Gloria\, all 
 the lights of the church are switched on and every candle is lit and the g
 reat round stone in the Easter Garden is rolled away revealing the empty g
 rave clothes. We renew our Baptismal Vows and end with joyful prayers.
