Dear Friends,

The church building may be temporarily closed but we shall use this time to keep trying new things and ensuring prayer, worship and fellowship are still at the heart of all we do as a church community. Read on for details of worship tomorrow and throughout January...

January Sunday Morning Worship and Fellowship

For the next few weeks we shall offer worship on Zoom at 10.30am on Sunday mornings. This will be a half hour service led in the style of Diddy Disciples, (apart from 24th see below) allowing young children to access worship in a form that is helpful for them. It will not be live streamed so the only way to participate will be to be on the call, either on your computer/smartphone/tablet or you can listen by dialling the phone number from your normal phone. I do hope that everyone will feel able to attend regardless of age, often when we allow ourselves to see through the eyes of children we find a richness of the kingdom of God that we might otherwise miss. At the end of the service the call will stay open for another half hour for a general social catch up for those who wish to stay.

The Zoom details which will be the same all month are:

January Sunday Evening Worship

There will be three Sunday evening services live streamed on our YouTube Channel https://www.youtube.com/channel/UCNymtzHV8G_EfZprXch9RIg at 6pm:

10th Evensong led by Martyn Davison with members of the adult choir

24th Conversation & Compline led by me, topic to be announced

31st Choral Evensong for Candlemass featuring recorded music from our choirs and the Dean of Leicester the Very Revd David Monteith will be preaching.

Celebrating Reader Ministry

On 24th January, we shall be celebrating Lay Reader ministry as Martyn Davison, Bob Smith and Penny Pullan will have just been (re)licensed and commissioned for their ministry at All Saints. Our preacher that morning will be the Revd Liz Rawlins, Discipleship and Vocations Enabler for the Diocese. Details of what form this service will take will be available nearer the time.

And finally...

The rhythm of daily prayer continues and you can join in via watching on Facebook https://www.facebook.com/allsaintsloughborough and if there is anything you would like the ministry team to be remembering in prayer please email [email protected].

Attached to this email is an  Epiphany House Blessing that you might like to use at home at some point this coming week. It is a tradition kept by many Christians and is a way of reminding ourselves of Christ's presence with us in the everyday spaces of our lives.

As this new year begins with all of its' uncertainties, may the Christ-child guide and sustain us that we may find our journey's end in Jesus Christ our Lord.

Revd Wendy
