Revd Wendy is on annual leave this week, so I get to write the bulletin. I hope you are all safe at home and finding new ways of keeping busy and positive. The building is closed but the church continues...
Can you help?
Do you have a working lap top or tablet that you no longer need?
If so, Loughborough Church of England School would like to give it a new home. There are children who don't have access to the technology they need to learn from home and your old devices could be the answer. If you have a laptop or tablet to donate please get in touch with the church office or one of our church wardens. Thank you.
January Sunday Morning Worship and Fellowship
For the next few weeks we shall offer worship on Zoom at 10.30am on Sunday mornings. This will be a half hour service led in the style of Diddy Disciples. It will not be live streamed so the only way to participate will be to be on the call, either on your computer/smartphone/tablet or you can listen by dialling the phone number from your normal phone. I do hope that everyone will feel able to attend regardless of age, often when we allow ourselves to see through the eyes of children we find a richness of the kingdom of God that we might otherwise miss. At the end of the service the call will stay open for another half hour for a general social catch up for those who wish to stay.
The Zoom details which will be the same all month are:
Meeting ID: 922 4189 1261 Passcode: 167625
Or dial: 020 8080 6592
Meeting ID: 922 4189 1261
Alternatively, you might like to watch the Sunday service from the Church of England, details here https://www.churchofengland.org/news-and-media/join-us-church-online/weekly-online-services/worship-home-epiphany-embrace-middle, available from 9.00am or listen to Sunday Worship on Radio 4 at 8.10am and then join the Zoom call at 11.00am to catch up with others.
January Sunday Evening Worship
There will be three Sunday evening services live streamed on our YouTube Channel https://www.youtube.com/channel/UCNymtzHV8G_EfZprXch9RIg at 6pm:
This Sunday evening Evensong is led by Martyn Davison with members of the adult choir.
Even while we are away from the church building we can work towards our silver award by becoming more environmentally aware at home.
This month we are preparing for the RSPB Great Garden Bird Watch 29th -31st January. If you would like to be involved, and would like some support, you may want to join Leicestershire Green Christian. We meet on a Monday evening 7pm on zoom, we are a group from across Leicestershire but there are a number of people from All Saints (The Wombles). This week is a social and a chat about how to to prepare, and a further session on garden bird identification is planned for the end of the month. Please email [email protected] if you would like the zoom link.
There is also a new scheme to help Christian Households become more eco friendly, www.creationcare.org.uk and you can link with All Saints Loughborough on the website (It will email me when you get an award). It is based on the eco church model and is a questionnaire you complete with awards bronze, silver and gold available. It would be great to see more people using this at home.
The rhythm of daily prayer continues and you can join in via watching on Facebook https://www.facebook.com/allsaintsloughboroughand if there is anything you would like the ministry team to be remembering in prayer please email [email protected]
When I count my blessings, I count you twice.
