DESCRIPTION:All are welcome to join us for Choral Evensong\, a choral sett
 ing of Evening Prayer from the Book of Common Prayer (1662)\, sung by the 
 Cathedral Choir during term time. This is a meditative service in which th
 e congregation participate through their presence and prayerful engagement
  with the spoken and sung texts.\n\nChoral Evensong on a Sunday also inclu
 des a brief sermon.\n\nFor further details concerning the music\, please r

 al's website.\n\nThis week we welcome our latest visiting choir\, the Hope
  Street Consort.\n\nThe Hope Street Consort is a Liverpool-based vocal ens
 emble\, formed in October 2023\, made up of musicians who sing in the choi
 rs of both of the city's cathedrals. Known for their flexibility in repert
 oire and clean sound\, the consort has quickly gained recognition\, earnin
 g a special commendation for their performance at their first competition\
 , placing second at the Andrew Downes Performance Prize.\n\nThe group regu
 larly performs recitals across the North of England and is scheduled to ap
 pear at the Prescot Festival in 2025\, alongside other exciting engagement
 s. The Hope Street Consort brings a fresh\, dynamic sound to the Liverpool
  music scene.\n\nLast year\, they visited Bradford Cathedral\, which was a
  great success. The consort are looking forward to returning as a visiting
  choir this summer\, singing both Eucharist and Evensong on Sunday 17th Au
 gust.
