DESCRIPTION:‘Jesus- Guru\, Avatar\, God?’ is an exhibition of two work
 s from the Methodist Modern Art Collection\; The Crucifixion by Francis N 
 Souza\, and Dalit Madonna by Jyoti Sahi (pictured). The pieces are selecte
 d to reflect on the person of Jesus as depicted from other faith perspecti
 ves.\n\nThe two paintings by Sahi and Souza respectively displayed at Brad
 ford Cathedral illustrate the city of Bradford’s long association with S
 outh Asian arts and heritage\, and the variety of styles and subject matte
 r found within the Methodist Modern Art Collection. It is a privilege to d
 isplay Souza’s The Crucifixion\, the first acquisition to the MMAC in 19
 62.\n\n – There will be an opening event on Saturday 6th September at 3.
 30pm.\n– Join us for a lecture entitled ‘Seeing the Spiritual: The Sto
 ry of the Methodist Modern Art Collection’ on the Wednesday 10th  Septem
 ber at 7.30pm.\n– Dr Alice Correia will present an In Conversation event
  discussing the life and work of Francis N Souza on Friday 3rd October at 
 6pm. \n\nEverything is Connected\nThese paintings are on display as part o
 f ‘Everything is Connected’\, a trail of exhibitions and hidden reprod
 uctions covering the city of Bradford and the surrounding area. \n\nAs par
 t of Bradford’s City of Culture 2025 celebrations\, five venues in the M
 ethodist Church’s Yorkshire West District are exhibiting artworks held i
 n the Methodist Modern Art Collection (MMAC)\, enabling conversations arou
 nd faith\, hidden or overlooked histories\, and diverse and marginalised h
 eritage. There is also a series of\nreproductions of works in the Collecti
 on that can be seen at bars and cafés along North Parade in Bradford City
  Centre. \n\nWhile each venue has its own theme\, they are all linked via
