Church Opening

You have probably heard by now that we are allowed to open churches for private prayer only from 15th June.

The Standing Committee met this week to discuss how we can do this safely, so that parishioners can use their church for private prayer again in a safe way. Similar plans for the opening of St John's are also being arranged by Patrick and Jennifer

We decided that we can open once a week, which will mean we don't have to find people to do a thorough clean as we would if we opened more often. It was agreed that for now, Wednesdays 5 -7pm would give the opportunity for everyone, including working people to come in, and we plan to open from Wed 24th June because we do need time to set safety procedures in place and let everyone know before then. Once we have opened we can listen to opinion and change the times of opening if necessary. We decided against Sunday opening as there is already an online service available on that day.

There will always be someone in church, when it is open to supervise and do any necessary cleaning, and to make sure that social distancing measures are kept.
