 ry of the birth of Jane Austen\, one of the greatest English novelists. He
 r works include 'Sense and Sensibility'\, 'Pride and Prejudice' and 'Emma'
 .\nGillian Dooley has spent many years researching Jane Austen's musical w
 orld\, and recently published a book 'She played and sang: Jane Austen and
  music'. \nLaura Klein is a professional pianist\, founder of The Jane Aus
 ten Playlist\, a historical music project featuring the music of the Auste
 n family.\nTogether they will play and sing some of the songs Jane Austen 
 is known to have sung.\nMatthew Flinders was contemporary of Jane Austen\,
  an explorer who was the first man to circumnavigate Australia. One of Jan
 e Austen's brothers was a naval colleague of Flinders.\nMatthew Flinders' 
 wife Ann is buried in the churchyard at St Thomas Church.\n\nThe ticket pr
 ice includes afternoon tea.\nPeriod dress optional.\n\nSt Thomas Church is
  on the 380 bus route\, and close to the 53\, 54 and 422 bus routes. It is
  approximately 10 minutes' walk from Woolwich Dockyard station. Please use
