About Us

Over Norton is an unspoiled village about a mile North of the market town of Chipping Norton. The Chapel of St James is a small and unassuming building, with a pleasantly bright interior, on the edge of the Over Norton Park estate.

Our small, friendly congregation meets twice a month at 9:15 to worship together.  A service of Holy Communion (BCP) is celebrated every first Sunday of the month, and a service of Morning Prayer with hymns on the 3rd Sunday of the month.

Our church is part of Chipping Norton 'Benefice' along with 8 other churches: in Chipping Norton, Kingham & Churchill, Over Norton and 'The 5 Villages' (Salford, Little Compton, Cornwell, Chastleton, & Little Rollright).

This parish is committed to the safeguarding, care and nurture of the children and people of all ages in our church community. Our adult helpers are all DBS checked, our Safeguarding Officer is Jill Hannington(01993 831827, [email protected]), and all our safeguarding information is here www.stmaryscnorton.com/serving-you/safeguarding.php.
