We regret that the decision has been taken to stop all Public Services at St. Mary’s Stoke Mandeville from today 21st. December . This will be reviewed on 12th January. This means that the service planned for Christmas Day at 9 a.m. will not take place. Services planned for 27th Dec. 3rd Jan and 11th Jan are all cancelled. We are really grateful for all that people have been doing to keep services going but hope you appreciate that because of high levels of Covid in our area we are closing for your safety. We will let you know before Sunday 18th January what will happen from then on.
The Church is being lit up on the 22nd, 23rd and 24th December as part of the Village Advent Calendar Event. Please do go and look at the decorations between 6p.m. and 8p.m. on these evenings. Sue Clarke and Ellen Cowley have prepared a wonderful display! The church however is not open on those evenings. It is all to be viewed from outside.
Revd. Janet Wales Priest in Charge and Henry Tettey Churchwarden.
(The Romanian Orthodox Church will make their own decision about whether to continue their services or not. )
