Who we are ...
St Edmund's is part of the Church of England - the nation's church.
We are part of the local community: our members live in South Chingford or the surrounding area.
We gather together as a body that welcomes and celebrates human diversity.
Our church building provides a space where people of any faith or of none can explore the sacredness in life.
We are committed to stand alongside those who find themselves marginalised in society.
Sometimes we fail, but we always keeping trying.

What we believe ...
We believe that God is not distant and remote, but is revealed through the mundane ordinariness of life and in the stories of our own lives - in our relationships and in the love that we share with each other.
The Bible teaches us that God is Love, and that Love is the source of all life and pervades all existence.
All people are equal before God - irrespective of belief, background or lifestyle choice.
We believe that forgiveness is always available when we fall short of what we hoped for or what was expected of us.
This understanding of God is seen in the life and death of Jesus of Nazareth, and through his story the closeness of God is made real.
